Using advanced thermoplastic resin technology Miradent produces partially-prefabricated prosthodontic devices that can be customized for each patient in a timely, cost-effective manner by the dentist or dental laboratory.

• The thermoplastic resin used in Miradent's products becomes malleable after three minutes in water heated to 160 to 170° F.
• The products can then be reshaped or molded to accurately fit the patient either intraorally or on a model. Because the resin becomes malleable at these temperatures and in this time frame, it is ideal for use intraorally. This feature is unique to the Miradent technology and has not been replicated in other technologies.
• Once cooled to room temperature the products are all rigid and dimensionally stable, but can be reheated to refine the shape.
• At this stage, depending on the product, dentists can employ either chairside impression and measurement procedures and have a dental laboratory fabricate a prosthesis or
• Final refining or relining can also be done by applying generally available auto-polymerizing or light cure reline materials. While these steps would most likely be done by the dental laboratory, Miradent's products enable the dentist to do the custom fitting themselves.
