The Denture Form - How It Works

    Fabricate custom complete dentures in as few as 2 visits!

Instructions - First Visit

  • The Denture Tray - Step 1

    Step 1: Trim, Heat and Adapt Tray

      1. Trim tray
      2. Immerse tray in hot water (175°F, 80°C) for three minutes. The warmer the water, the more moldable the tray becomes
      3. Adapt - use on model or directly in mouth

    Step 2: Border Molding

      1. Check tray adaptation and fit
      2. Trim overextensions with a burr or scissors
      3. Border mold

    Step 3: Final Impressions

    Use material and technique of choice. Use tray adhesive. For alginate we recommend using "Getz Hold"

    Step 4: Confirm Aesthetics

    Tooth mold, shade and position

      1. Mark midline and incisal length on tray
      2. Use tray anterior tooth dimensions highlighted in the Tray Dimensions section as a guide to select mold
      3. Select shade

    Step 5: Establish Vertical Dimension

    Use your technique of choice to establish vertical dimension

      1. To increase freeway space, reduce upper or lower occlusal plane
      2. To decrease freeway space, add wax

    Step 6: Bite Registration

    Use any material and method of choice to register a bite. You may find it easier to reduce the lower posteriors first to allow space for material and to maintain your desired vertical dimension of occlusion

  • Send the trays to lab for denture set up or finish

    Note: once the final impressions are poured and the models articulated, The Denture Tray is used only as a guide for a custom tooth set up. It is then discarded and does not become part of the wax try-in or finished denture.
