The C&B Tray - How It Works

  • The C&B Tray
    Eliminates the need for models,light cure materials, monomers and laboratories in custom impression tray fabrication. This Custom Tray can be adapted and fitted in the mouth in under 2 minutes. (Note: this technique is used also for the Denture Tray)

Instructions

  • The C&B Tray - Step 1

    Step 1: Heat and Mold Tray

      1. Immerse tray in hot water (175°C) for approximately two minutes (note: increasing water temperature increases moldability)
      2. Adapt tray on a model or test tray temperature on wrist prior to adapting it directly in the mouth

    Step 2: Fit Tray to Form

      1. Center tray over the existing arch form and seat it gently
      2. Mold the palate and flanges to approximate the peripheral tissues

    Step 3: Trim and Adapt Tray

      1. Remove tray from form, chill under cold tap water and reinsert, noting any over-extensions
      2. Trim over-extensions with an acrylic bur
      3. Any areas requiring further adaptation may be selectively re-heated and shaped

  • Apply Tray Adhesive and Proceed with Final Impression

    Use a tray adhesive compatiblie with the impression material to be used. Your Miradent Tray will remain stable in its customized configuration unless it is re-heated.

    Step 4: Heat, Mold and Fit

    Repeat Steps 1 & 2 above

    Step 5: Align

    Align raised portion on tray with the direction of the arch:

      1. Place Buccal Marking on tray toward buccal of mouth
      2. Mold flanges to approximate the peripheral tissues

    Step 6: Trim and Adapt Tray

    Repeat Step 3 above
